Level 3 mandatory
water restrictions apply across Sydney, Illawarra and the Blue Mountains
from 1 June 2005.
From 1 July 2005 a $220 fine will apply
for all breaches of Level 3 restrictions by residential customers. The
Water Restrictions Patrol will be carrying out random audits to ensure
compliance with the new exemption conditions.
To further encourage
compliance with the restrictions, businesses will face a fine of $550 for
each breach. Fines for water theft will rise to $2,200.
Level 3 restrictions
will not be enforced until 1 July 2005.
