Silicone Remover

We have been asked for a product like this for years.

Now Selleys have released their Silicone Remover which is a solvent based gel that has been formulated to remove old and unwanted silicone sealant residue. The product is pale brown in colour.

Technical Features

• Removes all silicone sealant residue after as little as 2 hours, leaving a clean, residue free surface that can be painted.

• Gel consistency is ideal for vertical surfaces.

• Safe for use on a variety of common household surfaces such as; Anodised Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Formica, Perspex, Polycarbonate, Glass, PVC, Zincalume, masonry, cementitious grouts, porcelain and glazed tiles.

Limitations

• Will discolour some plastics such as Nylon, polypropylene, ABS and polystyrene.

• Will affect surface of some metals such as Lead, Brass and Mild Steel.

• Product can damage painted surfaces and bare timber if left for extended periods (this includes powder coated products such as Colorbond).

• Area to be treated must be completely dry (water contamination will render Silicone Remover ineffective).

• Some highly porous surfaces may retain silicone oil which will be difficult to paint over even after the silicone has been removed.
