| They
don't make them like they used to. |
These pictures show some old water mains from outside Bathurst, which are
still in use today. They are constructed of wood, much like old barrels
and coated with asphalt which in many places has worn away.
There were approximately 25km of these mains, but now they are starting
to be replaced. |
