The fronds, which are reputedly the largest in
the world, grows in Australia and on some near by islands. |
 A mature plant may grow up
to 6m high and 3m wide with a trunk 1m across. It was wide spread down
through the eastern states many years ago but it is now limited to the
Carnarvon Gorge and some islands off the Queensland coast.
The leaves are tough, almost like they are prehistoric. |
